Novuskin, Las Vegas’ premiere membership MedSpa offers Frax Laser, our most popular skin resurfacing laser treatment. Ydun Frax Laser is a 1550 nm wavelength laser – the most ideal wavelength for smoothing the skin’s texture. The Frax (or fractional) Laser is non-ablative: instead of destroying the surface of the skin, it aims to heat only a fraction of the skin — the deepest layers of the dermis — so you have less surface redness, burning, and peeling. That means less downtime with far less pain during the procedure than with ablative lasers. With the Frax Laser, your skin will benefit from new collagen and elastin fiber growth to help fade redness, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation, while subtly diminishing fine lines.
This is the treatment you’ve been waiting for.
Smooth, even skin is in your reach with Frax Laser.
Ydun Frax Laser 1550 Machine
The Non-ablative Fractional Laser, also known as the Frax Laser, is used to rejuvenate the dermis and resurface the outer layer of the skin.
Ydun Frax Laser has been approved by the FDA for the medical aesthetic treatment of sunspots, age spots, and freckles. Ydun uses advanced diode technology and offers dual wavelengths: Frax 1550 for use on deep skin layers and Frax 1940 for more shallow layers.
Frax uses sophisticated software that allows for individualized client data to be stored in the system, so each treatment is perfectly customized to the individual customer, drastically minimizing the likelihood of technician error.
Exceptional customization allows the technician to expertly adjust the parameters of the laser using an advanced software algorithm. The pulse duration and energy settings can be adjusted precisely for each skin type and treatment goal.
Technologies Used
Frax Laser Treatment
Frax Laser treatments are among the most gentle laser treatments we offer for intense skin resurfacing. Frax uses a non-ablative, fractional laser to deliver energy in the form of heat to very specific areas of the skin. The laser helps stimulate collagen production underneath scars and stretch marks to lessen their appearance and heal the skin. This treatment can also help diminish fine lines and wrinkles, reduce pore size, and help smooth the skin’s texture.
Here’s what you can expect from this treatment:
Anti Aging
It can help remove wrinkles and fine lines. Laugh lines, crows feet, and skin laxity can all be improved.
Texture
The softness and smoothness of the skin can be improved, reducing rough skin and decongesting pores.
Hydration & Skin Tone
Your skin will be hydrated, look plump and full, and be radiant and glowing.

FAQs
What is a Frax Laser treatment?
A Frax Laser treatment is a skin resurfacing treatment that allows for exceptional targeting of problematic areas of skin. A laser is a very bright, powerful beam of light that is directed at one specific point on the skin. The laser helps destroy problematic skin tissue by heating up the area below it. The heat energy is powerful enough to stimulate soft tissue coagulation. In other words, the heat will stimulate your skin to heal itself and make collagen, the proteins you need to fill in scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles.
What does a Frax Laser treatment look like?
Your technician will fully cleanse your skin before your treatment. Then, they will apply the laser treatment. The Frax Laser is a handheld wand with a very small loop on one end. The loop will be placed on the skin you want to be treated and your technician will fire the laser very precisely within that loop. The loop will be moved and the laser will be fired until the entire treatment area is completed.
The Frax Laser may hurt a little, but it’s non-ablative, so its heat doesn’t ablate the outermost part of the skin but instead aims for the deeper layers of skin — the dermis. This means it hurts less than many other laser skin resurfacing treatments. We also provide numbing cream to keep you more comfortable.
If you feel any discomfort, it may be as though very tiny rubber bands are snapping your skin. The lasering typically takes 15-25 minutes of your 45 minute treatment.
Is Frax Laser safe? What are the side effects and contraindications?
The Frax Laser is a safe and effective skin resurfacing laser. If you are a good candidate for treatment, you will find the laser can provide excellent results for anti aging, reducing hyperpigmentation, and smoothing of scars and stretch marks while also generally improving the tone and texture of your skin.
If you have darker skin, Frax Laser may not be a suitable treatment for you. Frax Laser may leave areas of dark pigmentation on your skin. Speak to your aesthetician for a full recommendation.
Frax Laser may cause redness and swelling on the treatment site. Generally, people experience a sunburn-like sensation for a few hours to a few days following their treatment. In some cases, there may be mild peeling of the skin. If so, it’s best to allow the skin to fully heal on its own.
It may be best to avoid Frax Laser if you:
- Have taken Accutane in the months leading up to your treatment
- Have a weak immune system or any condition that inhibits clotting or healing
- Tend to easily form scars
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Who’s a good candidate for Frax Laser treatment?
Anyone who struggles with tone and texture issues of the skin, scars, stretch marks, or wrinkles is a good candidate for Frax Laser. Generally, laser skin resurfacing is safer for people who have fairer skin tones. Your aesthetician can discuss risks with you and help determine if Frax is the right treatment for you.
How do you prepare?
You don’t need to do anything special to prepare for your treatment. If you are able, come to your treatment free of makeup and skincare products.
Please avoid direct, unprotected contact with the sun for at least 2 weeks before treatment. Be sure to wear an SPF of 30-50 if you plan to be in the sun.
Aftercare
Be sure to apply a moisturizer on your treated area throughout the entire healing process, even under sunscreen. Following your treatment, you must wear an SPF of 30-50 for at least 4 weeks, every day to protect your skin from the sun. Wear sunglasses and a hat if you plan to spend time outdoors. If your skin peels, avoid makeup until it is fully healed.
How soon can you see results from a Frax Laser facial?
As soon as the redness and any peeling are resolved, you’ll notice an immediate difference in your skin with your optimal results fully visible by 28 days post-treatment.
How long will the results last?
You may need 2-6 treatments to see the full results, but your skin improvements could last for years. You may need touchup treatments once a year to maintain the look.
What’s the difference between a non-ablative Frax Laser and ablative lasers?
Ablative lasers fire their energy at the epidermis, the outermost layer of skin. This type of treatment can be effective, but also quite painful, and leaves the skin red, burnt, and peeling for weeks or even months following treatment. Non-ablative lasers, like Frax, aim for the tissue below the epidermis – that is, below the skin you see – and reach deep into the tissues, so you don’t generally have the burning and peeling you see with ablative lasers. This allows for less downtime and much more tolerable treatments.
