Galvanic Facial Machine
Galvanic technology is applied using the galvanic current facial machine TwinRey, a hand held facial applicator that emits both positive and negative galvanic ions as well as ultrasonic and blue and red LED light. TwinRey equipment is an exceptionally safe, side-effect-free system of applying beneficial amounts of galvanic current.

Stages of a galvanic facial treatment
- The face is wet and cleanser is applied to the skin.
- The positive current is applied to the skin. As the positive ions are pushed into the skin, the negative ions are forced to come out of the skin.
- Once the entire face has been treated with the positive galvanic device, the negative ions are applied the same way. The skin naturally wants to accept some negative ions so it opens the pores, allowing both the negative ions and beneficial skincare ingredients to enter as well.

Galvanic current is a type of electrotherapy that is used to send electrical current to treat the skin. A galvanic treatment (or cataphoresis) is an add-on that Novuskin performs as part of a larger facial treatment. It helps to enhance the effects of your sessions by using positive and negative ions to help detoxify your skin and to allow products to penetrate significantly deeper. Negative and positive galvanic current uses include enhancing the complexion, improving blood circulation for better cell renewal, helping give sagging skin a lift, removing dirt and oil, and improving nourishment of the skin.
Galvanic current is a direct current with a low voltage and amperage. It cannot burn or create pain on the skin.
Does galvanic current facial work?
Yes, galvanic current facials really work! They send positive and negative ions into the skin to help create a number of beneficial outcomes. Is galvanic stimulation painful?

How to prepare for a procedure?
The best thing you can do to prepare for your treatment is to have clean skin that’s free of oil and makeup. Luckily, our aestheticians will thoroughly cleanse your skin before your treatment to ensure your skin is prepared to get the most benefit out of your session.
How long is a galvanic skin treatment?
Galvanic is offered as an add-on treatment during your facial session. Your entire treatment will last approximately 45 minutes, and the galvanic skin treatment session will be used for 10 minutes of time.
Recovery Time
There is no healing time or healing process required with galvanic. You won’t need any recovery time.
Aftercare
Generally, you can immediately return to your regular activities after galvanic therapy. You should be able to apply your regular skincare products and makeup without delay, however, speak to your aesthetician. Since this is an add-on treatment, your facial may have different indications for aftercare.
What not to do after a galvanic facial procedure?
Do not expose your skin directly to the sun. Be sure to wear sunscreen. You are able to go back to your regular activities immediately and you can put on makeup, but if you’re able to let your skin be natural following your treatment, this may aid in a better result.
How often should you do this procedure?
You can use galvanic therapy as often as three times a week. Adding it to your monthly or bi-weekly facial appointment is a good step to having naturally healthy skin.
Is galvanic current safe? What are the side effects and contraindications?
Galvanic therapy is extremely safe, and it’s highly unlikely you will have any adverse effects or that it will cause complications.

Galvanic may not be safe for you and should not be used if you are experiencing any of the following:
